Hey guys. So as the title of this news post suggest, we are upgrading our server this weekend!
Up until now, we, like most Minecraft server operators rent a server box of some kind to host our Minecraft game on. Well, we have now come into possession of 5 server boxes that we now own! Add5tar and i spent last weekend in the Sydney DC (Data Centre) installing them into our own rack space there, we’ve been busy setting them up and are now ready to switch over this weekend!
So what does that all mean you say? Well immediately not much. Possibly a slight increase in performance, though you may not notice. BUT It means we now have the capability to add in MANY more worlds, many more minecraft servers, more games, more activities, more FUN! 😀 We’ve always had certain things planned that we’ve wanted to do but couldn’t because we’ve basically run out of room. Well not anymore!
So this Saturday the 19th of December at 3pm AEST (/servertime in game to see) we will be bringing AddstarMC offline and making the change over to the new servers! We’ll be working as fast as we can but we are most likely going to run into unexpected problems. Watch our Facebook page as we keep you up to date!
