Minecraft 1.21: Tricky Trials

I’m sure you’ve heard all about it, Minecraft 1.21: Tricky Trials was released recently. Bringing a whole new survival adventure with Trial Chambers! We know you’re all waiting for the server to update and all the details, so let’s jump into it:

• 1.21 Client Support: As of today, you can now join AddstarMC with a Minecraft 1.21 client! Most servers will support 1.21 (not all), but remember this is only a compatibility system. There is NO 1.21 content and you cannot use any 1.21 features. This is also very new so if you’re using a 1.21 client, there could be some compatibility issue with gameplay, so we still recommend using 1.20.4.

• 1.21 Server Upgrades: Thanks to some major Minecraft/modding changes in recent years, plugin updates are typically much faster these days than they used to be. Many plugins have already updated to 1.21, which is awesome 🎉 Spigot 1.21 was released straight away so we’re just waiting for Paper (the server software we use) to release a 1.21 version, then we can start doing testing. We expect that to happen very soon!

• Hardcore 1.21: As usual, the first server we upgrade is Hardcore, because it is vanilla-like and the community expects world resets regularly. Once Paper 1.21 is released, we’ll do our usual testing and if all goes well, we’ll announce a reset date for HC1+HC2. We’re looking forward to seeing all the new Breeze deaths 😈💨

• Hardcore3: With the release of Minecraft 1.21, we’ve decided to hold off just a little longer so we can bring you a brand new 1.21 world in HC3.. more danger, more adventures! So stay tuned, we’re still working on it and will bring it as soon as we can.

• Other Servers: We have a much larger number of plugins on other servers, especially Survival. So we can’t give a timeline or estimation yet of when these will be upgraded. Once we get Hardcore reset finished, we can start working on others and have a better idea of how long we expect it to take.
